| White crystal or powder, relative density 1.50. Strong deliquescent; easily soluble in water, but also soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, acetone and carbonate. Decomposes when exposed to air or when heated. When exposed to air or heated, lithium hexafluorophosphate rapidly decomposes in the air due to the action of water vapor, and emits PF5 to produce white smoke. |
